The comic acted as a continuation of the animated series after episode 65, picking up after the climactic second season finale, "Hunter's Moon, Part III". A new line of comics serves as Season 4 of the show, again written and overseen by Greg Weisman, with issue 1 releasing on December 7, 2022. The comic continued the storyline of the first two seasons, but ignores much of the third season, The Goliath Chronicles.ĭynamite Entertainment will remaster and republish these comics in 2023. It was based on the 1994 animated television series Gargoyles, and was written by series co-creator Greg Weisman. The show is currently available on Disney+ and the first of the new Dynamite books is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2022.Gargoyles is a fictional team of characters appearing in comic book series by Slave Labor Graphics and Creature Comics which appeared between 20. Gargoyles has had a strong cult following since its premiere in the early 90s and continues to grip audiences to this day.
The company, however, has promised that more news is to come. The comic ran from 2006 to 2008, no news has come from Dynamite as to whether or not these comics will be considered part of the new canon or will be featured in a similar reprint to the Marvel series. This comic also features input by Weisman and continued events from the initial show. Gargoyles also made appearances in the Disney Adventures magazine in the 1990s, as well as another comic run by SLG Publishing. These comics will also be reprinted by Dynamite in addition to the new series in trade paperback form, giving incoming fans a new chance to relive the adventures! Weisman considers this run as a continuation of the show and was initially hired to write for it, but due to an early cancellation never had the opportunity.
